Are you feeling worried or even hopeless regarding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)? You’re not alone. Every day lately we are bombarded with news of rising cases, deaths and economic devastation. While this virus is something to take seriously, we must try to not let our fear rise when all the new cases are reported. They are being reported in increasing numbers because doctors are simply testing more people.

As we have mentioned in a previous blog post, emotional stress is a major cause of physical illness, from cancer to autoimmune conditions and many other chronic diseases. The brain and body systems that process emotions are intimately connected with the hormonal apparatus, the nervous system, and in particular the immune system. It is important to remain mindful of this fact and accept that we have no control over the outside world, as the famous Buddhist Monk Ajahn Brahm said, “Relax, everything is out of control!”.

There are practical, holistic steps you can take during this time to protect yourself and avoid becoming a statistic:

Supplement the RIGHT AMOUNT OF VITAMIN C: According to Dr Sarah Myhill in her video below “Vitamin C contact kills all microbes” Dr Myhill also states “the key with Vitamin C is the dose, if you do not take enough of it, you just won’t get the benefits” she suggests “everybody should be taking 5 grams of it per day but when you get the first sign of a sniff, or cold or a sneeze, you take 10 grams every hour until you get diarrhea. Harm? Zero. Potential for good? Enormous”. Dr Myhill says vitamin C cleans up our gut and blood at the very first sign of infection. Worried about taking too much Vitamin C? “You cannot poison yourself with Vitamin C, it is gloriously safe stuff” says Dr Myhill.

Use a SALT INHALER WITH IODINE: As we learnt above, Vitamin C contact kills all microbes and is used from the inside out. Dr Myhill says, “iodine contact kills all microbes and we can use that from the outside in”. Why use a salt inhaler? according to Dr. Norman Edelman, Senior Scientific Advisor to the American Lung Association, “When fine salt particles are inhaled, they will fall on the airway linings and draw water into the airway, thinning the mucous and making it easier to raise [clear], thus making people feel better”

You can purchase a salt inhaler online and add about a tablespoon of Himalayan rock salt or sea salt to it. Dr Myhill suggests using a lugol 5% or 2 % iodine solution and put 2 drops each time you inhale, twice per day or every 2 hours according to how ill you are. You don't have to change the salt, just add the iodine drops each time you use it.

How to use your salt inhaler:

Grip the salt inhaler pipe with your forefinger and thumb on either side to create a bit of a seal and sniff it up through the nose. Sniff it 10-15 times to contact kill all microbes in your nose, sinuses, upper airways and lungs.

Alternatively, you can grip the salt inhaler pipe and place its mouthpiece into your mouth. Breathe in normally through your mouth and breath out through the nose.

For best results, the recommended time of salt inhaler therapy is 15 minutes per day

Eat a healthy diet FREE OF REFINED SUGAR! Why refined sugar? Because it paralyses the ability of white blood cells to perform their duties for hours. Choose natural healthy alternatives such as maple syrup, date syrup or coconut sugar.

You can also support your immunity and overall wellness with our Green Detox blend which is high in polyphenols and other plant compounds that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions.

Remember to stay WELL HYDRATED with filtered water. To know how much water you should be drinking daily, take your weight in pounds, divide the number by 2 and the resultant number is the minimum amount of water in ounces to drink per day. We believe better days are coming and that we will overcome this soon. Stay positive x
